Hi. Meet Cecilia. I'd like to share with you Cecilia's testimony. I am still learning Spanish, so this testimony is broken with some parts missing, but it is very beautiful and I pray that you are blessed by hearing it.
Cesi's father died when she was young, and she and her mother and sister built a home from scratch on the other side of her village, and started a new life. Cesi attended the nearby primary and secondary schools. During her secondary school, Cesi was caught up in the wrong crowd. A friend introduced her to drugs, and it was not long before Cesi was addicted.
Cesi married and had two children, but her marriage, like many marriages here in Mexico, fell apart without God keeping it together. Her addiction became her life, and soon Cesi found herself selling her body on the streets to supply her money for her drugs. After many difficult years of addiction and prostitution, Cesi was caught in a very bad predicament. She was with people who had committed a serious crime, and because of her reputation, was blamed and incarcerated with them.
In jail, Cesi had a very hard time. Her children were sent to live with her mother, and she faced a twelve year sentence. In jail, a pastor came each week and showed love to the prisoners. In time, God worked on Cesi's heart. She gave her life to God and began attending her NA meetings regularly. She worked very hard on reading the Bible and professing her faith the prisoners.
After two years, the officials called her into the office one day. They gave her all her belongings and told her that she was free. They were aware of the mistake in her arrest and sent her to the streets. Cesi came home to her sons, her mother, and her sister's family. She also came home to many Brothers and Sisters who have since encouraged and helped her. She worships with us regularly, and never ceases to share her story of how God freed her from her bondage.
