Prayers for healing and provision

Three weeks ago on Monday, Joshua cut off the tip of his finger on his electric saw while finishing some tortilla presses that he has been selling in the villages. Because we live an hour from any city, our neighbor rushed him to the nearest medical facility: The village doctor.

Village doctors are medical students who are completing their last year of study on the field, in practical training. Therefore, this was the first time that the doctor had sewn a finger back on. Despite his care and attention, he lacked experience, and although he sewed the finger back together fine, he failed to clean out the dead tissue.

Within a week, gangrene set into the finger, and we visited another doctor, in the bigger of the two cities near us. He immediately saw the problem of infection, and prescribed seriously strong antibiotics for Joshua and has made two surgical attempts at removing dead skin and infected tissue.

However, the infection is spreading, and is very close to the bone. Therefore, the doctor has recommended to us that we should amputate the top half od Joshua´s thumb to stop the infection. He gave us one week to continue with the antibiotics, but now, the tissue is becoming pussy and yellow again. So, we are preparing ourselves for a surgery.

These trips to the doctor, each $30 in gas to get there and $50 for each visit, has withered away our finances. The amputation procedure will be, at the least, $500. This is more than we currently have. It was our original plan to be in the states by now, working and making funds, but currently, we must wait here until the infection stops spreading.

Please lift us up to the Lord in prayers in your church, in your bible studies, and in your family. We are in desperate need of His help. One, for the healing of Joshua´s thumb; two, that if the Lord does not heal by a miracle, that he will provide the funds necessary to heal through amputation; and three, that the Lord would either replenish the money we have lost in this emergency, or that he would give us work to recoup these lost monies.

We are Josh and Lacy Webb. We married in 2003 as missionaries, and continue now together in our calling as a family to spread the love of Christ wherever he allows us to be. Believers are the ministry, the servants, of our Lord and Savior. the basis of His Ministry. We make up a web of servants, which stretches across the world, touching lives in many areas but connecting them all through us to our Lord and Savior, the Risen Messiah, Jesus the Christ.
