DEVELOPMENT OF THE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

The idea of the Christian school continues to grow here in the village area. We have hit a wall of fear that we are praying for strength to overcome. The government has a grip on the families here, who are terrified that by taking their children out of public school will end their quarterly government supplements of income. This, of course, is not true, but telling them the truth has no effect. Though they are distraught with the lack of education that their children are receiving in the public school system, they are equally distraught with the idea of being under the (not-so-watchful) government eye. We encourage them to enroll their children in the GED-equivalent program of Mexico, called INEA, so that the Christian education will be legal, but this is equally disturbing to them. If we have learned anything through our year in Mexico, it is definitely that Mexicans are terrified to defy the government or the established order.

Meanwhile, as the school continues to take shape in the minds of the people, we have had several requests to help jr. high school students and high school students complete their GED-equivalent “INEA” exams. The exams are preceded by intense study, which we are helping about three teenagers complete. Though this was not the original intention of our idea for a school, we are glad to do it. We take every opportunity we can find to serve the people and share the love of Christ.
Please continue to pray for the school. Though we are now teaching teens, we know that the Lord has placed education of children on our hearts, as well, and we know that in his time, he will bring to fruition the school. Please pray for a more centralized location, as our little village of Victoria is 4km from the highway (about 2 miles), and is not centrally located as a prime place to hold school – especially when the rains wash out the dirt road that leads to our village! We have a lead in a highway village named Juan Escutia that an abandoned grocery store may be available, but the process of acquiring the use of anything in Mexico is long and time-consuming. Pray for our patience and continued wisdom as we help the teens finish their schooling through the INEA government program.

We are Josh and Lacy Webb. We married in 2003 as missionaries, and continue now together in our calling as a family to spread the love of Christ wherever he allows us to be. Believers are the ministry, the servants, of our Lord and Savior. the basis of His Ministry. We make up a web of servants, which stretches across the world, touching lives in many areas but connecting them all through us to our Lord and Savior, the Risen Messiah, Jesus the Christ.
