This Saturday was our first fundraising dinner. We held it at the fellowship hall of Main Street United Methodit Church, in Boonville Indiana. Unfortunately, no one attended. Bummer, eh?
Josh's mom came in a little late, and we had dinner together, and Lacy cried a lot. Then all three of us cleaned up mess from all our preparations, took down all the decorations and media equipment, and packed the van back up. We went home feeling pretty let down.
At first we were depressed. Then we were synical. Then we were angry. Why didn't anyone come? Lacy asked Josh if it was a coincidence, abd he immediately responded that he did not think it was.
We feel that we have encountered our first bout with Spiritual Warfare over this mission endeavor. In downtown Evansville, we experienced this a lot. The enemy cannot stop the Lord's work from being advanced, but he CAN discourage the workers from going to the fields. Last night, we were close to giving up, but then we found encouragement in just talking about the Lord's words: "Do not grow weary in well-doing, for you shall receive the crown of life" -- "The harvest is plenty but the workers are plenty" -- "Beware, lest trouble come and a root of bitterness springs up within you". We prayed, asked forgiveness for our emotions, and asked God to change them.
The Lord will provide all our needs according to his riches in Glory. We still plan on having the second dinner this Saturday. But we are covering it in prayer, and just continually seeking the Lord for guidance. In the warfare of the unseen, we must always keep our eyes on our guide, the Holy Spirit, for it is so easy to be distracted by what is going on around us. We must be sure of our calling, and faithful to follow our God wherever he leads us.
Please keep our strength, our resolve, and spiritual welfare in your prayers. As we seek the Lord for guidance each day, we also take heart that our brothers and sisters are praying for the same. Thank you for your prayers.

We are Josh and Lacy Webb. We married in 2003 as missionaries, and continue now together in our calling as a family to spread the love of Christ wherever he allows us to be. Believers are the ministry, the servants, of our Lord and Savior. the basis of His Ministry. We make up a web of servants, which stretches across the world, touching lives in many areas but connecting them all through us to our Lord and Savior, the Risen Messiah, Jesus the Christ.
