The MAILING....

This weekend was our first major mailing weekend. We sent out almost 400 mailings to all our new, current, distant, and old friends, and all of our family. It was a major undertaking, and Josh and I are so tired of papercuts! But it was well worth it. We were able to get the word out to everyone about our trip.We would appreciate prayers for the receptivity of our letters. We prayed long and hard about involving others financially in our endeavor. We really want prayers from our friends, but asking for monetary help to get down to Mexico was really a huge pride issue for us. But after seeking the Lord about it, we put aside our pride and reached out for assistance. The Lord is our provider, and if he puts on others hearts to use our mission as a way for them to be involved with reaching the world, then Praise His Name. But if he will provide the funds in some other way, then Praise His Name, still.We have put financial issues into our Provider's hands. Josh is working as hard as he can to raise as much money as possible, and I am making sewing projects and crafts to sell to raise money. But whatever we raise, we know we are going to fulfill the call God has given us. We won't be held back by our financial fears. Our God will supply our every need. In this, we are sure, because he has proven himself time and time again - from providing food on the table when we had none; to providing money for groceries the day we ate our last can of nonperishables; to providing us shelter again and again through family and friends when we lost our apartment and Josh's work in the same week. God has done such great things to prove his love and compassion to us, and we are certain that he was preparing us in all our trials for a greater future purpose. We thank him for our difficulties, and praise him for our tears, for in those moments we learned to trust him the most.We will try to post updates every 1-2 weeks on how we are doing in preparations and travels.
