Travel Update 12-31-2006

Last night we slept at the home of our friend, Nathan Reavis. He was very kind, and although he works third shifts, he left the house to us for the evening and provided us with dinner Saturday night and breakfast on Sunday morning. Sunday, we attended church with them at Gateway Church in Grapevine (DFW) Texas. The message was that when Christians deal with Spiritual Warfare, we must first be on God's side. Before Joshua fought the battle at Jericho, he met with the captain of the Army of the Lord. Joshua 5: 13-14 says: "Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, "Are you for us or for our enemies?" "Neither," he replied, "but as commander of the army of the LORD I have now come..." The Lord is not on sides - in His Might and His Power, he has already won the victory. But when we fight a battle that is not against flesh and blood without being in fellowship with Him, we will not taste victory.

The drive through this gigantic state is getting tiresome. We have made it three days without getting cranky today, but today our limits were pushed when we lost our way to our hotel while trying to find something to eat. Please pray that our patience and understanding for one another will be strengthened.

The sunsets are beautiful here! It felt like we were driving in a big desert snowglobe, with color encircling us on the horizon! Below is a picture I took on the road. We also saw lots of birds migrating southwest. The scenery was mundane sometimes with all the flatness, and other times we were thrilled with the hundreds of windmills dotting the horizon on the plateaus and the cactuses dotting the landscape like lillies and daisies. God's creation is truly amazing, and it is beautiful to see how it changes to drastically just on one continent. What an amazing, intricate world he has formed!

We are Josh and Lacy Webb. We married in 2003 as missionaries, and continue now together in our calling as a family to spread the love of Christ wherever he allows us to be. Believers are the ministry, the servants, of our Lord and Savior. the basis of His Ministry. We make up a web of servants, which stretches across the world, touching lives in many areas but connecting them all through us to our Lord and Savior, the Risen Messiah, Jesus the Christ.
