Travel Update 12.29.2006

Thanks for your prayers for our long drive today! We spent a grueling 14 hours in the van crossing Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Lousiana. We are now at the border of Texas, staying with a very hospitable family, Tom and Teresa Gatti and their son, Justin. Not only have they blessed us with a very comfy bed to sleep in and a warm house to shelter us, and the enjoyment of kindred fellowship, but they also provided us dinner and will send us off with breakfast tomorrow. What a blessing they have been! Our funds have been cut tight by some minor work we had to do on our van, so their help with food has been greatly appreciated.



There is a pretty violent storm moving through tonight. Josh and I have never seen such cloud-to-ground lightening! The land is very flat here and so it is very easy to watch the storm move across the sky, and watch the electrical activity dance from clouds to the earth. Please pray for our safety as we will be travelling into this large storm cell tomorrow, driving to Dallas/Fort Worth, and we desire a safe trip during the rain. We are hoping that this line of storms will move through tonight.



On a jolly note, Josh and I passed through a city we found humerous, and took some photos. You read that sign correctly! The town is "CHUNKY, MISSISSIPPI"! And right through Chunky Mississippi runs the CHUNKY RIVER:
