..."Over the river and through the woods, to grandmother's house we go" ...
That's all the song that I know, and in one week and 2 days, that's exactly where we are headed, thus beginning our journey into what lies beyond in Mexico. We are both very queasy and excited. It's crazy that after months and months of planning, it's finally happening!!!! Josh is has one last job that he is finishing Monday-Thursday, installing a kitchen floor for a couple here in Evansville, and then everything is settled for our trip.
ITENERARY
We have been very blessed with churches along the way who have found places for us to crash, and sometimes even eat, as we travel across the country. The entire journey will be about 35 hours to get to Tucson, and another 12 hours driving downt through Mexico, so we are making frequent stops. Here is our itenerary, for those who are interested:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
December 26
We will first drive 6 hours to Cleveland Tennessee, to visit Dad's parents and sisters and nieces and nephews.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
December 29
Then we will drive 10 hours to Shreveport Louisiana, where we have been blessed with the hospitality (and cooking) of Tom and Teresa Gatti.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
December 30-31
We will proceed from there to Fort Worth Texas. Our maps tell us this Interstate drive is a 3 hour drive, but we have heard numerous informants say otherwise, and who have encouraged us to plan on a 6-hour drive. A church in Forth Worth has purchased us a hotel room, as has a church on our next stop in Midland, TX. It will be a 6 hour drive to there.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
January 1
After Midland, We will travel 5 hours to Deming, New Mexico, where Pastor Marshall Boyer has been hospitable enough to invite us into his home and send us out the next morning.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
January 2-4
We will leave his home and travel to Tucson Arizona (a 6-hour drive), where we will STOP TRAVELLING!!!!!!!! Well, just for a day, anyhow. The arrangments in Tucson are still up in the air as to where we will be able to stay. But we are resting for a day before taking the 12-hour drive down to the village of 21 del Marzo in Sonora, in Mexico. Our friends, Brandon and Jill Owen, and their 4 children, are meeting us in Tucson and guiding us across the border and down the village. We are very thankful for this, because we've never, as a couple, driven more than a 600 mile trip ... and this is 2,000 miles TOTAL!!!!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PRAYER REQUESTS
We're really, really excited about this opportunity. It's a chance to experience a new culture, to learn a new language, and also to be a part of the work of God's kingdom. We are requesting specific prayer requests to be lifted up for those who read this, who would minister to us in this way:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Joshua and I are both undergoing intense spiritual warfare. No need to give glory to him who's glory was stripped away...so I will not divulge. But please, PLEASE pray for our mental and emotional safety and purity. Our marriage has been attacked very little, but individually, we are finding ourselves weak and very tired from the darts of the enemy which are targetting our minds and our temperments, and it is wearing on our unity. We have spent the last few nights praying for one another, forgiving one another, and encouraging one another in the Word.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We were hoping to go down with a certain amount, and had been petitioning the Lord to fulfill this amount. He has, of yet, not. The specific amount was because the Lord had laid on our hearts a specific time frame we were to be there. We still will go, but if the Lord will have us stay, he will have to provide a miracle. We've seen it happen, time and time again in our marriage - money appearing out of nowhere, groceries in the cabinets when that morning there was none, the miraculous provision of our Jehovah Jireh. Please pray for our faith to be strong in our provider, and not ourselves.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have been experiencing multiple anxiety attacks and heart palipatations. They have left me very weak, and I know that it is from the stress of trying to get ready for this trip. The Lord has become stronger in my life through my weakness, and something tells me that I needed this humbling effect for me to see that I cannot get ready for this trip on my own. I have been looking to Him more each day to lift me up when I cannot, and I find that through my weakness I can worship stronger, and worship deeper, than before. Also, I am requesting prayers for my healing, as I have almost torn a muscle in my left shoulderblade. I lifted a box that I shouldn't have (my dad and Josh both already scolded me because I knew better) and I have been incredibly sore for 2 days. I've been restricted by my doctor from lifting anything at all for the weekend, which has hindered the progress of my packing. So please pray for my healing. I am having the brothers lay hands on me at church on Sunday morning.
Thank you all for staying updated with us. The next two weeks may be quiet over the internet, as we spend this Christmas with our families and then travel. Please visit our website at http://webbofministry.blogspot.com for past posts or to send your comments on this post.

We are Josh and Lacy Webb. We married in 2003 as missionaries, and continue now together in our calling as a family to spread the love of Christ wherever he allows us to be. Believers are the ministry, the servants, of our Lord and Savior. the basis of His Ministry. We make up a web of servants, which stretches across the world, touching lives in many areas but connecting them all through us to our Lord and Savior, the Risen Messiah, Jesus the Christ.
