Ft. Smith, Arkansas

We made it to Ft. Smith, Arkansas, on Thursday afternoon. What a blessing it was to meet the Marquex family! Steve and Monica had quite a handful with their 9 and 11 year olds and a 17 year old. But the fellowship was refreshing and inviting.

We attended Bible Study on Thursday night with pastor Steve, and then Joshua started working on Friday morning. A brother in the fellowship, named Randy, is also a contractor, and he gave Joshua a few days worth of work, which turned into two weeks of business! We praise God for his provision!

Joshua painted walls and laid a floor in a home that was being remodelled by it's owner, another brother in Christ named Jeff. The Marquez' oldest son assisted Joshua in the remodelling, and definitely earned his pay in the amount of work he put his hands to! We were blessed with just under $2,000 worth of work in Ft. Smith.

We shared about the mission at Steve's church on the Sunday morning of November 18. Several people gave interest in the mission, including a brother who donated a lot of lumber for Mexico, and another couple who donated clothing and a stroller. We were also blessed with financial donations from various believers in the fellowship.

The work which delayed us in St. Smith also delayed us in our thanksgiving plans, so Steve and Monica were gracious and invited us to spend thanksgiving with their family in Oklahoma. It was a very enjoyable thanksgiving evening, on a large plot of land surrounded by a small farm.

We are heading out of Ft. Smith on Thursday, December 6, to continue our journey west toward Mexico. Our next stop will be in Tyler, TX, to refresh connections with believers there whom we met last year on our way back to the states from Mexico. We are praying for safe journeys.
