Freely Receive, Freely Give

Two months before we embarked for Mexico, we visited a revival in a small church in Illinois. We shared about the mission and enjoyed the fellowship of brothers and sisters who were, like us, from a small fellowship. They blessed us with gas money and also asked us, “Can you use an old powered sound board?” With enough experience to know never to turn down something free, we accepted the sound board, and told the pastor that we would look for someone who could use it.

Three weeks ago, we visited a brother in a church about an hour from our village. He was disheartened because his soundboard and amplifier had burnt out, and they had been without their electric keyboard or amplified guitar for two weeks. Joshua excitedly told him about how we had received the free powered board.

Brother Armando was very excited to receive the soundboard, and his small church is blessed to have music again. It is amazing how God provides us with the necessary means to bless our brothers and sisters. This is yet another powerful lesson in such a simple proverb: Freely you have received, so freely give.
