When we decided to move from our old house into the church, our neighbor presented us with an option. He has a piece of land with a house that he doesn’t need anymore. The house is half-built, but has been sitting solo for nearly 3 years, and the bricks and cement are starting to be worn down by unprotected exposure to the elements.
However, the plot of land is large, and Pacho has gifted us with the empty half of the land to build our own home. In his words, “If you have land and a house,” he told Joshua, “then you can go to the states whenever you want and never have to worry about ‘Did I pay the rent?’ or ‘Will someone be in my house when I move back?’ or “Will someone demand me to buy the house now that I’ve rented for a year?’ It will be your house, built by your money and your sweat, and no one can tell you what to do with it.”
Our neighbor, though not a professing Christian, has been an incredibly kind and honest and empathetic man, and we have been so grateful to have the company of him and his wife and three teenage children each day. It has really been a blessing to have friends like them, and we are grateful that they are still interested in remaining our friends, even though we are no longer neighbors.
Pacho and his daughters have been attending services, as “listeners,” but have not professed Christ with evidence of a changed life. Please pray that God would bring them to repentance and conversion. Joshua also has many opportunities to witness to Pacho, since they work together in carpentry, and Pacho has many questions. Please pray the Lord would bring this family to repentance and salvation.

We are Josh and Lacy Webb. We married in 2003 as missionaries, and continue now together in our calling as a family to spread the love of Christ wherever he allows us to be. Believers are the ministry, the servants, of our Lord and Savior. the basis of His Ministry. We make up a web of servants, which stretches across the world, touching lives in many areas but connecting them all through us to our Lord and Savior, the Risen Messiah, Jesus the Christ.
